The problem
Merck, a multinational science and technology company with 60,000 employees, is known for its wide-ranging expertise. Over time, the company's digital ecosystem evolved to include over 100 websites and apps and became a massive challenge to manage, particularly with information and content flowing in from departments all over the world.
When it became apparent that wrangling such voluminous content across so many sites was untenable, Merck's digital leaders turned to Siteimprove for help.
We’re using Siteimprove on a daily basis. The tool itself is very easy to use, it saves me a lot of time, and it enables us to centrally manage the content and the findings. We can directly jump to several findings on the page and correct them there as our CMS system is also connected to it.

The solve
Consolidation was the first priority: Merck's digital team built and launched a single site that encompassed all the websites and apps, all with the help of Siteimprove's tools. That approach gave them control over their entire digital estate, as well as the oversight, capability, and resources to monitor and manage every piece of content from one place.
The unified site was powered by agile collaboration among teams and content authors, while improved workflows and processes helped the digital team continually optimize Merck's content.
One key benefit was Siteimprove's connection with Merck's CMS: Team members could identify and fix issues on pages without having to toggle between platforms.
