The problem
As a member-owned financial institution with nearly 600 employees, Wisconsin-based CFCU is committed to providing the same exceptional service online as it does in person.
However, managing a vast digital presence with an outdated website posed significant challenges: Tracking and auditing content, ensuring quality assurance, maintaining accessibility, and optimizing SEO all require time and resources. The need for a modern, user-centric website that could be managed with a single platform became paramount as CFCU sought to deepen member relationships and attract new customers.
CFCU brought on Rose Kilsdonk, Vice President of Special Projects, to lead the website reimagination effort. Kilsdonk had previous experience relying on Siteimprove and recognized the platform’s potential to transform CFCU’s digital presence, from user experience to analytics.
Siteimprove is a pivotal asset to support our team’s data-based decision-making process. The innovation mindset, top-shelf customer service, quality education opportunities, and reasonable pricing model has elevated Siteimprove to my favorite digital marketing tool.

The solve
CFCU explored various solutions but found that Siteimprove was the only platform that could address all their needs in one place. Kilsdonk and her team quickly integrated Siteimprove into the new website project, using our comprehensive tools to manage quality assurance, accessibility, and SEO efficiently.
With Siteimprove, CFCU could audit and optimize their staging site before launch, which ensured that the go-live experience was smooth. The platform’s behavior maps provided insights into how visitors interacted with the site, so the team could continuously refine and improve the user experience. Additionally, Siteimprove’s monitoring tools enabled CFCU to quickly identify and resolve errors, maintain consistent quality across content changes, and enhance their SEO efforts by managing meta tags and alt descriptions effectively.
"Using Siteimprove allows us to surpass doing just a good job and set our sights on doing an excellent governance job, enhancing our organization's digital presence," said Kildonk. "Within just three months of relaunch, improvements were significant."
